Updates from Bayfront Advisory Commission

What is the Bayfront Advisory Commission? The BAC is appointed by the City Council to “review and make recommendations to the City Council regarding public and private projects and issues associated with the Bayfront area, or projects or issues associated with the Bayfront area that the City Council may refer to the Commission.” BAC meetings are open to the public and take place on the third Thursday of each month at the Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad. Agendas for upcoming meetings and minutes from past meetings are posted on the BAC page of CoVB website.

Presentations to the BAC at the August meeting included: Updates about Phase III Shore Drive Project and the Kayak launch at Pleasure House Point. If a project will go before the Planning Commission and the City Council and is in the Bayfront area, the BAC will review the project in light of the Shore Drive Design Guidelines and submit a recommendation to the Planning Commission and the City Council. Neither of this month’s presentations required a recommendation but were for information purposes.
