Thanks to City Council for approving our new signs that’ll be installed in the median!

We also thank everyone who helped make this happen like the Bayfront Advisory Committee, and with COVB Barry Frankenfield, Kay Wilson & Mark Shea.

East one located near Lesner Bridge at Dupont Circle.
West one located at Marlin Bay & Shady Oaks.

Note Public Notice sign for Hearing requesting a variance to cut down trees in buffer is nailed to a tree.

For those of you in dissent regarding this commercial development by CCW for the Shore drive property adjacent to the 7-11, you are encouraged to attend the 22 May CPBA board meeting at 9 am.

If you are unable to attend in person, please take a few moments and contact Paul J. Scully, the CBPA staff planner at City Hall.

It’s suggested to comment in writing as soon as possible. It will be submitted to the board at the meeting.

What’s coming to Ocean Park

CIP 8.408.000 Pleasure House Point Mitigation document.

This project initially funded a study related to developing a wetlands mitigation facility on a portion of the Pleasure House Point site acquired by the City.

The Canoes at Public Art Virginia Beach Foundation.

After an extensive national search, the Public Art Virginia Beach Foundation, along with members of the Virginia Beach Public Art Committee and the Bayfront Advisory Commission, are pleased to announce that Donald Lipski has been selected to create, The Canoes, a signature sculpture that will serve as a gateway to the Bayfront community.

    You’ll be walking or riding bikes since you live in OP.
    If you drive, there is plenty of parking on Marlin Bay Drive. Take gravel path thru PHP to get to Brock.

It’s that time of year! Cleanup on Pleasure House Point Natural Area!! Yes, I know you’ve all been clamoring for information, bothering me to death! “Mary! When can we have a cleanup!?!….Mary, PHP is dirty!! Pick me! Pick Me!!….I wanna do a cleanup!!!” Well, now’s your chance!! April 8th from 0900 til noon!! Bring gloves if you have them, dress for safety and warmth (or coolness…who knows?!?) We will meet at the entrance on Marlin Bay and Ocean Tides, and yes, warm baked goods will be supplied!! (My regulars know what that means!!) Grabbers, pokers and bags will be supplied. Come join us for a great way to start the day, cleaning PHP!! See you there!!

Some highlights of survey questions:

    Phase IV Shore Drive Ocean Park 50.12% of people voting voted as Highest Priority road project that should be completed vs 2nd place of 20.16%.

    Phase IV Shore Drive Ocean park received 429 votes as Highest Priority road project to be completed which was also first place.

Not sure how the scoring goes as Phase IV Shore Drive Ocean Park came in a close 2nd place to Laskin Road improvements.
