Following the Wetlands Mitigation Project presentation to City Council on November 26, Civic League members requested input from local stakeholder groups (for example Lynnhaven River NOW, Friends of Live Oaks & Chesapeake Bay Foundation) on the project.
We requested input from several organizations and other environmental agencies.
- Lynnhaven River Now shared feedback which is available here.
- A video of December BAC meeting with the Public Works Presentation, the Friends of Live Oaks comments and questions from residents is posted here
- Public Works Presentation slides
- OPCL minutes from the 2017 civic league meeting when the project was first presented are here.
- Councilman Schulman’s explanation of the city’s actions is available.
OPCL will add additional information as it becomes available. We encourage our neighbors to take the time to review the information to help understand the proposal. The opinions posted on our site are of the respective organizations and departments and not those of the Ocean Park Civic League. Our goal is to serve as a conduit of information related to our neighborhood.
For timely answers to questions about the project from the Department of Public Works
The project will be voted on at the January 7, 2025 City Council meeting. Here is information on how to sign up to speak at that meeting either in support or to express concerns about the project.
