Parks and Rec Department report for last holiday weekend July 17-19, 2026: “This was a slower weekend with a total of 346 launches. Overall, very hot and humid weekend with periods of rain Saturday and rain all day on Sunday.”

“Friday, July 17 –        122 total launches, car parking was not full and remained available throughout the day.  The overflow lot was used for 14 vehicles with trailers. The main trailer lot did not fill. Barricades were not deployed. Weather was hot, humid with some wind.

Saturday, July 18 –     167 total launches, car parking did fill up around 10am and had limited availability throughout the day. The overflow lot was used for approximately 34 vehicles with trailers. We did not have to close the facility to trucks and trailers. Weather was hot, hazy and some wind.

Sunday, July 19 –       81 total launches, car parking did fill up around 11:45am and had limited availability the rest of the day. The overflow lot was used for 2 oversized trailers. Barricade operations were not implemented this day. Hot and humid, water was choppy with wind. Late day rain.

Incidents:

• We had a 2 boats breakdown at the recovery ramp on Saturday. This caused a short delay for people for people recovering their boat.

• Review of camera footage from weekend did not show anything out of the ordinary. No reports from security guard.

Notes:

Although we are getting colorful comments on social media, staff reported that several boaters complimented us on the new stand saying that it was a great idea and that they could identify staff more clearly during launching and recovery.

Parking Enforcement:

Enforcement runs from May 1- October 31.
